Juliette Silverton is the dedicated girlfriend of Portland homicide detective Nick Burkhardt. A veterinarian, she lives with Nick and the two make for a seemingly perfect pair.Like Nick's cop partner Hank Griffin, Juliette is unaware of her boyfriend's secret job as a Grimm, someone charged with hunting supernatural beings called Wesens. When Nick learns that he is a Grimm, he becomes somewhat conflicted about keeping Juliette so close -- as the Wesens and their sympathizers will almost certainly use his love for her against him at some point. Still, Nick is too smitten to say goodbye and would rather keep secrets from Juliette.Juliette is no dummy, however, and senses that her boyfriend is keeping something mysterious from her -- leading to ongoing problems in their relationship, which had been bordering on engagement until Nick began acting strangely. Growing up, Juliette spent most of her childhood living with her grandmother in Spain, resulting in a handy ability to speak the language.
