Genevieve Teague proves to be a major mastermind, and the puppeteer of her adult son, in the fourth season. All of her motives are driven by the desire to kill Countess Margaret Isabelle Thoreau, who at the burning stake in the 1600s vowed to Genevieve's multiple-great-grandmother that she would get revenge on her ancestors. Genevieve in turn becomes obsessed with killing Lana, with the fear that the Countess will possess her body and kill herself and her son Jason. As a result of this obsession, she sets up the Paris relationship between Jason and Lana, is madly after the three elements that when united promise great power, and has Lex hire Jason as a LuthorCorp employee to help him track down those elements. She also was a friend/adversary of Lionel Luthor, and doubted his good intentions when he felt redeemed after escaping from prison, an action that was Genevieve's responsibility. She believes that he is also after the stones, but is using Lana for his purpose. Little did she know that Lionel believed that the elements were intended for Lana, so rather than seeking the stones for his own good was helping Lana know where to find them for her own protection. In an intesting twist of fate, Genevieve gets killed by the Countess when she tries to steal one of the elements that is in Lana's possession. Show less «
