In 2001, the man that Olivia Rosalind Thompson Dodson had been married to was struck by a car driven by an illegal from El Salvador. Richard Dodson was killed and Olivia was left to raise their 4 yr old son on her own. Years later she started her family again. After participating in a 5k charity run, she found the father of her tiny daughter, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Olivia and her children made a movie about their grief which took first place at the Virginia Independent Film Festival in 2008.
