Nathan started out as a musician, playing in bands most of his early life. His wife, who is also from Monroe and an pursuing acting herself, encouraged him to pursue acting. Nathan knew of the growing need for extras and talent in Louisiana due to the booming film industry. He followed his wife's advice and was cast as an extra relatively quickly.
