James Edward Thomas is an American actor born in Sharon, Pennsylvania and raised in Elkhart, Indiana and Atlanta, Georgia. His mother, Regina, was an avid film buff and instilled in him a desire to become an actor at an early age. He is a graduate of University of Georgia with degrees in Journalism and Drama and Theater. James began a television journalism career at WAGA Channel 5 in Atlanta which led him to Los Angeles where he worked as a News Anchor and Reporter at KTTV, KNBC and KCBS and as a west coast correspondent for CNN. In 1985, James was approached by Hollywood talent agent Helen Barkan, who offered to represent him as an actor. After studying with legendary acting teachers Nina Foch, Bobby Hoffman and Roy London, James was cast in the soap operas Santa Barbara, The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. This led to roles in nighttime episodic television and numerous commercials. In 1992 James left Los Angeles to develop a successful private business enterprise in Atlanta. He returned to acting full time in 2011 after signing with Atlanta's prestigious J Pervis Talent Agency and Artist Entertainment Management(AEM). James has appeared in a number of national and regional commercials and onstage as a stand up comic in recent years. He costars as recurring character Al Sharko in the HULU Sci-Fi/Horror TV series, "Horror Hotel", and as Esq. Rosenberg in the Crime Drama web series "Eeazy" from Braggadap Films and Konlive distribution. In 2015, James costarred as Bill Cuffi in the feature film "Curveball" from Supremacy Films and as Preacher Harold Jenkins in "Buried Cain" from SpiritWorld films. He will appear as Pastor Brewer in "The Sunday Horse" starring Nikki Reed, William Shatner, Linda Hamilton and Ving Rhames scheduled to arrive in Theaters in 2016. Also in 2016, James Guest Stars in nine episodes of Tyler Perrys hit series "The Have And The Have Nots" on the Oprah Winfrey Network and will CoStar in an episode of the new Cinemax series, "Quarry". As a Voiceover Artist, he has narrated numerous Audiobooks for Audible.com, including the top selling "Talk, A Novel" authored by CNN talk show host Michael Smerconish. James and his wife Melissa,a prominent Georgia Real Estate professional, were married in 1994. Show less «
