Bruce Edwin Melan is an American actor and model born in New Orleans, Louisiana; his mother, Jennifer, is a legal secretary, and his father, Bruce, an auto mechanic. His ancestral heritage includes English as well as Filipino decent. The arts were a prominent focal point from an early age which included winning several awards in elementary school for drawing and poetry as well as enrollment in his school's Gifted & Talented program. Following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2006, he and his family were forced to evacuate along with other relatives to the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bruce, in middle school at the time, would go on to finish high school there where his desire for competitive athletics became top priority before furthering his studies at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Upon graduation, he moved back home to Louisiana to pursue a career in the area's budding film industry. After working and familiarizing himself with both the business and life on set he moved to Los Angles in June of 2018.His on camera debut came in 2017 when he portrayed the role of Nico for the USA Network television series Queen of the South. Most recently, he has appeared on the latest season of the CBS television series NCIS: New Orleans as the character Yulman Bennett. His modeling career includes participation in a fashion show for the New Orleans Wedding Magazine during the 2016 Wooden Boat Festival.In addition to acting and modeling, Bruce is also an avid writer and artist. He most recently has taught himself how to play the guitar and has begun experimenting in the world of songwriting.
